Give Me Jesus
I listened to this a lot while traveling all those miles last week! It’s Give Me Jesus, by Jeremy Camp.
I LOVE this song!!!!!
Our New 100 lb Baby
I would like to introduce you to the new addition to our family!

His name is Jake and he is a four year old Chesepeake Bay Retriever. We rescued this little (huge) guy from the animal shelter.

He’s a really sweet dog, great with kids, loves to play and take walks. He retrieves and swims well. And has quite a fascination with birds.

He doesn’t seem to have much interest in our cats other than to play with them. Which they are not willing participants! Those of you who know me or have been following my blog for a while know that I’m a cat lover. My poor cats’ world has been turned upside down! I know they will get used to him though. It’s an adjustment for me too since I’m a cat person, but he’s quite a loveable dog! And he’ll encourage me to exercise by taking him for walks!
So there you go! Our new 100 lb. baby!
Kaitlyn's Piano Recital
The kids are down to three and a half days of school! I have so much I want to get done before they’re out! It would be nice to finish a couple of songs I’ve been working on in peace and quiet. Ya know without Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, or SpongeBob playing in the background! I will just figure out a line for a song when I hear, “it’s the climb” and well there went the line. Gone. Like the wind. Never to be retrieved again. I would also like to get some exercise and shopping in sans kids too! You know important stuff! ![]()
Anyway, enough about me. I wanted to let everyone know about a big event happening this week (other than the last day of school), Kaitlyn’s piano recital! I want to invite y’all to tune in Tuesday night, at 6:30 pm central time, on my website www.cynthiatallman.com where we will be livestreaming it! Their teacher, Jenifer Danielson and the students have worked really hard this year and this is a great way for family and friends who live out of town to see and hear their accomplishments.
So I pray everyone will have a great Monday and we’ll see ya Tuesday night!
Just Finished My New Song
I’ve been rewriting a song this week, and meeting with Matt, who sings and plays the guitar for me. We just finished recording my latest song “Just That Simple". It turned out really good, and Matt was really great to help me out with it! Chris thought it had a country feel to it, and that’s okay with me! I’ll most likely make a few changes to it before the final recording. Until then, I’m happy with it!
That’s what’s been occupying my free time this week.
What’s occupied yours?
Working on Rewrites
I’ve been working on a few new songs. Yesterday I met with Matt who will be singing and playing the guitar for me. He is very talented and had some great tips for me. I always like hearing from another perspective. So for the next few days I will be working on some lyric and melodic changes to the songs.
Why? You might ask. I read once that great songs aren’t written; they’re rewritten, and that kind of stuck with me. I have a lot of okay songs, several good ones, but I really want to write great ones.

That’s what I’ll be doing in my spare time for the next few days and I love it. What would you do if you had some spare time?
